Afternoon all, how's the global economic crisis treating you today? For all of you tax payers in Aus, I hope Mr K-Rudd has been forthcoming with your 900 squids.
Anyway, you know what the hardest snowboarding shot to nail is? Not the switch back 12, 'cause you know where he's going to be (I'll amend this to he/she as soon as I see a girl spin one), and certainly not your tech-dawg jib shit, again you know exactly where the rider should be. For me, the hardest shot to nail is a really good powder turn. Go figure. Perhaps I'm just pow shot retarded, other photogs shoot me down at will over this. It always seems way harder than it should be to get rider and shooter talking about the same ideal turn spot, and the timing when the turn should be really arced. That highlights one of the necessities of developing a solid working relationship between shred and shooter, after a while you're both picturing the same shot and don't have to labour over the how/when/where details. Here are a few pow shots from the vault, just because I want to go snowboarding right now.
This wasn't a just a spontaneous rant on the horrors of shooting pow, I was just earlier thinking about the saying that working with animals and children is one of the harder jobs in photography. Making it harder still is having a lab pup blacker than night, so black that a Canon L series lens can't focus on her face because it can't find it. But, she is damn cute and doesn't give a toss about your economic struggles. She's too busy scarfing cat pooh, shitting all over the place, chewing me and generally having an awesome puppy time all day every day.
